The purpose of this blog is to provide an introduction to my Christian counseling blog on my website. Therefore, readers will know what to expect when reading my posts.

My name is Amanda Conroy. I am a licensed mental health therapist, providing online Christian counseling in Denver, CO, and Miramar Beach, FL.

I love my work as a therapist. I am passionate about motivating, encouraging, and helping others. Writing is also another passion of mine. Therefore, I enjoy taking what I have learned from being a therapist and from the word of God and using it to write blogs that will assist others through the difficulties they encounter in their life.

Christian Counseling Blog: A Biblical Worldview

What is a worldview? A worldview is a set of beliefs, values, and attitudes that help inform us about the world and influence our thoughts and actions.

I have a Biblical worldview– how I view the world comes from my belief that the Bible is true and is the authoritative word of God. Therefore, what I write in my blogs reflects what I believe about the Bible and who God is.

I strive to align my words with what the Bible says is true.

In conclusion, readers can expect that what they read will not contradict the Bible, and the guidance and tips I share will remain in alliance with biblical teaching. However, I am fallible and invite correction from readers who stumble upon poor theology in my posts.

Moving forward, let’s discuss the importance of Christianity in the healing process.

Christian Counseling Blog: The Bible and Mental Health

The topic: the Bible and mental health would need space for an entire book. Therefore, I am having difficulty conveying this message in a blog post. I will do my best.

But first, I want to preface by saying our well-being and mental health will never reach perfection on this side of heaven. I know it does not sound so hopeful, but there is good news. Our life is just a blimp compared to eternity with our Lord Jesus- for those who have accepted His gift of salvation. The Lord promises perfect peace and joy when His son Christ returns.

We live in a fallen world. Therefore, our sins and the sins of others will negatively impact us. However, healing and improvements are possible. God is loving. His commandments to us are for our good, therefore, His teachings and commandments improve our well-being and mental health.

Christian Counseling Blog: We need Jesus

Jesus needs to be in the therapy process. He is the only source of hope, love, and joy. The things of this world will never fill the void we all experience- Jesus is the source of our fulfillment.

The hope of Christ and God’s promises give us joy even when life circumstances are not the best. We can walk through the difficulties of life knowing we are loved and not alone.

Doubt in your faith will hinder your relationship with God. Doubt is ok and healthy in the process of growing in faith. However, you do not want to stay stagnant in doubt. It is vital to combat your doubt and grow in faith and trust in God. “And without faith, it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him” Hebrews 11:6 . I intend to write a future blog post on ways to combat doubt in the Christian walk.

Therapy is necessary for many. Counseling is an effective avenue for helping support people who have experienced trauma, who are crippled by anxiety, and much more. Working with a therapist will provide you with tools and skills to manage life difficulties.

In conclusion, Therapy without Christ is useless. Jesus needs to be at the center. Therefore, in my blog posts, I incorporate skills and tools from therapeutic models along with scripture. I strive to align my words and actions with God’s word.

Christian Counseling Blog: My Hope for Readers

Dear reader, I hope you will learn new skills to manage whatever difficulty you are facing, and most importantly, I hope you anchor your life to Jesus Christ. Jesus gives everlasting hope, love, and joy even through the trials of this life.
