How To Get Started
First, schedule a free 20-minute phone consultation. Once scheduled, I will send you a quick questionnaire for you to complete before we chat. The phone consult will help us determine if we will be a good fit and if I am able to support you with your present concerns.
If we determine we are a good fit, we will schedule an initial appointment.
If we are not a good fit, I will be more than happy to assist you in finding a therapist that would better meet your needs.
Once we schedule your consultation, I will send you an email to set up your own client portal.
What’s a Client Portal?
The client portal is where you’ll fill out all the necessary paperwork as well as schedule ongoing appointments with me.
Some of the benefits of using an online client portal include:
Intake paperwork before the first appointment
Access to billing documents
Appointment reminders
Shared documents and assessments
Before Your First Appointment
Before we meet, it’s important that you review and sign all the practice documents as well as fill out the intake questionnaire.
This will give me time to review the information prior to our first session and better utilize our time together.
I’ll have a lot of the background information that I’ll need to get to know you and what has led you to seek therapy. This will allow us to jump right in and get to work.
During Your First Appointment
I will briefly go over with you my practice documents, making sure to answer any questions that you might have.
Next, we will review your intake paperwork and get more of the story that has led you here. We will discuss your strengths, struggles, and work together on creating a customized treatment plan.
At the end, I will check-in with you on how you felt the session went. If all is well, we will schedule another appointment.
The initial appointment can take anywhere between 60-75 minutes. I offer 50 and 80 minute sessions. 80 minute sessions are typically encouraged for EMDR, and we will discuss this during your consultation and initial session to see what’s right for you.
