Amanda Conroy’s approach to Anxiety Therapy

 

I take a trauma approach when I provide anxiety therapy for my clients; meaning, I work with my clients to find the root cause of their anxiety and uncover any trauma that may have caused the development of their worry and panic.

If there is underlying trauma, I work with my clients to process that trauma, as a result, their problematic symptoms of anxiety are significantly reduced or eliminated.

In the beginning of treatment, I utilize talk therapy to learn more about you, your history, and symptoms. As a result, our therapeutic rapport will be strengthened, which is vital for success in therapy.

I take an active approach in the counseling session. You will be provided with psycho-education and with tools and skills to cope with and manage your anxiety. Also, I will assign you homework in-between sessions.

I utilize EMDR, IFS informed EMDR, CBT, DBT, and Trauma-Informed CBT in my practice to help clients struggling with anxiety.
